Photoshop Tutorial #9– Black and white effect
In this post, I will guide you on how to add a black and white effect to an image in Adobe Photoshop CC. This is a great video dedicated to helping beginners familiarize themselves with Adobe Photoshop CC.

Step #1 — Image window → Adjustment → Black and white.
Step #2 — Make sure Preset is set to Default in the drop-down box.
Step #3 — Image window → Adjustment → Levels
Step #4 — Adjust shadow input level to 40 and midtone input to 1.2. Press OK.
Step #5 — Layer window → New Adjustment → Brightness/Contrast. Press OK.
Last step — Adjust Brightness to 15 and Contrast to 25.
