As I sit here and reflect on my recent trip to Las Vegas, I find it wild that I was in the midst of a heatwave. It was over 110° throughout my stay. The hottest day of my visit reached 117°. Luckily, there was little to no humidity in Vegas, unlike here on East Coast. Dry heat is a different type of heat that I wasn’t familiar with. It felt like the heat slapped me across my face as soon as I stepped out of the airport.

Dry heat definitely hits different, but to my surprise, it was bearable if you know what to do. Here are tips you can do to manage yourself in dry heat weather.

#1 — Stay hydrated! Drink plenty of water. If you consume alcoholic beverages or caffeine, make sure you drink enough water to balance yourself out.

#2 — Wear sunscreen and walk in the shades. If you’re going outside during the daytime, make sure you apply sunscreen and stay in the shades as much as possible.

#3 — Night time is your best friend! If you are going to go outside, it’s best to do it at night. Especially if you are like me, someone who enjoys walking for miles and miles.

#4 — This is probably the most obvious one, but if you don’t have to go outside, please don’t.

Despite the hot weather, I still had an enjoyable time in Vegas, and hopefully, you’ll find these tips helpful.
